Having scanned a few people’s Strava entries for this race, the key words appear to be mainly ‘hot’ and ‘hilly’, although other terms like ‘scenic’ and ‘friendly’ also crop up from time to time.

The sun was out for a beautiful evening in Cutteslowe and a moment of self-transcendence.

So, Henley XC, the last venue in the league for this winter and my first time there.

Race report – Hanney 5 – October 2^nd 2022

I entered the Hanney 5 as part of a training plan (thanks coach Ian K!!) to get back to running in the double digits as a target after regularly only running 5-6 miles.

I first visited Longworth in 1988. I was living in York as a student and had never been to Oxfordshire before.

The Cotswold Classic, aka Witney 10, has been a regular fixture in the Club Championship for as long as I can remember.
