Banbury 15 Results

Well done to the hardy ERR band who completed the always tough Banbury 15 miles. Particular congratulations to Robert and Kate W for winning their categories, and Kate A for finishing 2nd in hers. Alison, Kate W and Anna all played their jokers, but let me know if there were any others.

Henley Cross Country Results

A variety of verdicts on the new course at Henley, ranging from 'proper cross country' to some involving words that I had better not use here. 'Hilly' and 'slippery' were among the more acceptable descriptions. Anyway, congratulations to the ERR ladies, who finished 2nd in Division 1 on the day, and missed out on 2nd place for the season by a mere 2 points. 3rd place in Division 1 still represents a best ever for the club, so congratulations all round. The ERR men finished an excellent 3rd on the day, to be a pretty solid 6th place in Division 1 for the season. Again, a fine effort. Individually, we salute Kate and Katherine who won their categories over the season, no mean feat, as well as Dan and Liz who were both 2nd in theirs, and Jacky, who was 3rd overall in hers. We also welcomed young Javier Hardwick, who made his debut in club colours in the U9s.   U9 Boys/Girls 38 J Hardwick   Men

Wokingham Half Marathon Results

A glorious day for running at Wokingham resulted in some excellent performances. Well done to Kate and Katherine for their age category club records, even if neither were quite satisfied with their efforts - high standards, obviously. Congratulations also to Tom and Richard for beating their PBs by significant margins, as well as Colin who beat his by a few seconds, but a PB is a PB. Dave ran under Simon's number, so no Club Championship points, and an early use of the jobsworth hat for me. No jokers played as far as I know, so let me know if you played yours.

Adderbury Cross Country Results

There was a danger of this meeting being called off due to the weather, but in the end we were all glad it went ahead, with the frozen start giving way to pretty decent conditions for running. Particular congratulations to the ERR ladies team of Liz, Laura and Kate, who finished top of Division 1 on the day, which we think is a first for the club. They are still 3rd overall for the season, but a mere 5 points behind Abingdon, so all to play for in the final fixture at Henley. The ERR men's team also performed creditably, despite the absence of the top 3 from the previous fixture, to finish 5th in Division 1 on the day, leaving them 6th for the season. Horspath Cross Country Results

Wonderful to see so many ERR folk at relatively hill-free and mud-free Horspath (though some of us miss the joys of Shotover Hill). 39 runners overall must be close to a record turnout at a cross country, so thanks to everyone who took part, as well as Karen for marshalling. Firstly, well done to our youngest runners, Chloe and Charlie, who were 34th and 42nd in the under 9s race. The order of the ERR men's team was a bit of a random affair, due to injuries and the joys of Christmas in some cases (who shall remain nameless). On the day we were 7th in Division 1, and are now 6th for the season overall.

Cirencester Cross Country Results

Firstly, welcome and well done to Chloe who made her ERR debut in the U9 Boys and Girls race, finishing in a very creditable 33rd place. Later on, the ERR ladies were the star turn, with their 2nd place on the day and now stand in 3rd place for the season. Congratulations to Liz for her 3rd place overall and to Kate and Katherine for finishing 1st in their categories. Despite fielding a slightly weakened team, the ERR men still finished a decent 6th on the day and are in 5th place for the season. Thanks to Ben for coming back from India especially and the good folk of Witney for lending us their spare tent (yes, they had a spare). Hopefully ours will be fixed before January 2019.

Eynsham 10k – Club Results

As usual, some excellent performances by ERR members at our own event. Well done to Liz and Katherine for breaking the club records in their categories as well as setting PBs, along with Tom for yet another PB. In addition there were County Championship Golds for Kate and Katherine, Silver for Robert and a Bronze for Liz. The ERR men finished 2nd on the day behind the speedy Abingdon quartet, and the ERR ladies were 3rd.

ERR Breakfast Run Results

Thanks to everyone who turned out and ran or helped in any way on what was another glorious day to run into the woods in order to justify a sausage/bacon sandwich (or both, in some cases). The results are below. Al didn't wear club colours, hence the 'jobsworth' rule applies, and no championship points. Tess did for some of the race, and Keith's was almost faded beyond recognition, but both just about count. Steve E and Alison B aren't first claim club members, so can wonder what all the fuss is about. As this was the last race of the season, your joker was played if it hadn't been before, hence there being quite a few today. Any mistakes/omissions, please let me know.

Newbury Cross Country Results

A very solid performance by both ERR teams for the opening match of the season, amidst some very strong competition. Congratulations to Kate and Katherine for finishing first in their categories. The ERR women finished 4th in Division 1, while the men finished 5th in theirs. In other news, the new catering facilities were such a hit that we were the last team to 'de-tent' and leave the field.
