Hooky 6 Results

Well done to all those who enjoyed the rolling countryside round Hook Norton.

Nik wasn’t in club colours, so no club championship points (I’m sure he’ll cope).

Any missed jokers, please let me know.

PS John won the wine, and has finally produced his report, which follows the results.

A 6 Mile race in Hook Norton – Phew, what a scorcher! This summer’s 6 mile race around Hook Norton, let’s call it the Hooky 6, was sponsored by the local brewery…Hooky. It was the standard course – two laps around the local village roads -but with the added bonus/hazard of a very busy ‘local’ sponsored 100km cycle ride. On more than one occasion I found myself thinking “God, I wish I was on a bike” and also caught myself checking out the machinery and apparel; I’d be a great runner if only I could concentrate. It was a race of two halves, in that the first lap was cool, yet the second lap was boiling. It was as if Hooky Brewery had turned up the temperature in order to sell more beer.  A great race, one that more should enter next year if only for the trendy Hooky 6 drinks bottles.
