Motavation No. 5 Report, by Laura Hutchins Payne

Spot Prize for improving my time by an enormous 6 minutes in race 5

Thank you, Eynsham Road Runners, for this award, thank you for creating opportunities to run and race during Lock Down, and thank you for providing training and exercises which have helped me to develop.

I am currently working towards the Blenheim Triathlon on 13 September 2020, and improving my running has been a key goal for me. I am seeking sponsorship to raise money for RNLI, and you can see the whole story of how the RNLI saved Steven and me in 2013 on my Just Giving pagehttps://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/laura-hutchins-payne

During Lock Down I have enjoyed running the various challenges the Club has offered, including the Virtual Park Run, the 100-mile relay, and on Tuesday nights I have set myself hill training and speed training modelled on the exercises set by Ian Keeley and Nigel Fisher.

All of this has added to my development as I have run the roads and loops of Long Hanborough, programming my running together with swimming and cycling.

For the 5th Motavation (Bletchingdon) I ran a popular circuit from Long Hanborough through Freeland and back.  I ran along the A4095, where Strava awarded me a PR, through Freeland, and back to Long Hanborough, running down and up Pigeon House Lane (recorded as Pigeon House Hell in Strava), and the Coffin Trail, where Strava awarded me my 3rd best time past the Allotments.

Strava records 8 matched runs on this route since April 2020 and I am definitely trending faster, which is very pleasing. I am one participant who is benefitting from the Blenheim Triathlon being deferred from May 2020 to September 2020, although it is a pity we can only have one spectator each.  If anyone is going with anyone else on Sunday 13th, please cheer me on too!
