LONDON MARATHON CLUB ENTRY – Criteria to be eligible for club allocated entry
As an England Athletics affiliated running club Eynsham Roadrunners are allocated 1 – 2 places in the London Marathon each year. The number of places allocated varies and depends on the size of our competing club membership.
We are always excited to hand on (usually out of a hat at one of our club nights!) these allocated places to members who have not been able to secure a place in the London Marathon through the ballot entry process.
Each year eligible members’ names are picked out of a hat, with the lucky members securing a place in the next London Marathon.
The aim of the criteria below is to support your ambition, ensure an open and level playing field for all our members and to encourage your participation in club life.
In order to be eligible for a club allocated place we ask for the following, you have:
- been a competing member of Eynsham Roadrunners for 2 or more years
- been rejected from London Marathon ballot based entry and are able to provide the rejection email to a member of the committee
- ran, marshalled or helped out at 5 club events – self recorded. For example, marshalling at Eynsham 10k, Motavation races, Cross Country, Leading paced runs, supported the club at any other events
- Not won the allocated ballot place the previous year
Good luck and please let us know if you have any questions about this?
