...I have recovered from my surprise at winning something and thought I had better fulfil my side of the bargain and write a report to justify my bottle of wine. I have thought long and hard (a little) about what I would say.

I seem to have dodged the responsibility of a race report over the years, however it has finally caught up with me but at least I get a nice bottle of wine to drink!
...During lockdown, I have not been running quickly and that has suited me fine! I have been running because I am thankful to be able to get out there and it is my way of keeping mentally and physically well.

Taking part in the Motavation series has been a slightly surreal experience for me. I joined ERR in April 2019 and just missed the deadline for entering the 2019 Motavation races, so 2020 has been my first year of competing. It means I haven’t a clue what any of the real-life courses actually look like, but running the series virtually has still been great fun. When running solo, knowing that other clubmates are running the same distance on the same day, you’re definitely spurred on to run a bit faster than you would normally.
...1 hour Challenge 14th June
This months challenge coincided with the 24hr eyNHSham Endure which involved running for an hour or 6miles at 05am on Sunday morning.
...The ‘1 Hour Challenge’ has been a total new running concept for me – not knowing where the finish line is but knowing when the finish is.
...Last year was my first experience of taking part in the Mota-vation Summer Road Race Series, a series of five road races, each approximately four miles, held monthly at various venues in Oxfordshire on Thursday nights.
...The virtual parkrun has become almost as much of a ritual as the real one used to be for some of us, although unfortunately I don't think I will be able to claim any of them in my quest to reach the elusive 250 runs.
...The ‘Eynsham 13’ were among a field of 250 runners for the ‘Banbury 15’ 2020, run over a 15-mile course in challenging and wet conditions.
